This week in
Math we are going to continue our work with linear relationships, found in tables, graphs, and equations. Students are going to be given multiple scenarios where they have to find out when and where two linear relationships will cross (or in real-life scenarios, this means where the values of two different relationships will be the same). They will be introduced to the mathematical terms "y-intercept" and "coefficient" and realize that they already know what these are, but just haven't known the technical word to it yet. At the end of the week, students should have a basic understanding of the role of the y-intercept and the coefficient in tables, graphs, and equations.
In Science students will look at different infectious diseases and learn about scientific discoveries regarding these different diseases. Students will also be able to look at various types of cells and analyze the similarities and differences among these cells.
I look forward to seeing everyone after their week long break. I hope everyone is well rested and ready to finish out the second trimester strong! PS -- only 2 more weeks of the second trimester. This gives you only a short time to improve your grade if you weren't happy with your progress report last week.
